Policies

This program is designed to help your child receive one-on-one instruction with a professional musician, or music director, from our community before or after school.  The private coaching program is an optional activity available to all middle school and high band and choir students.  Below is an outline of expectations for the private lesson program.  If your family is interested in participation, you can sign up using the scheduler below. Time slots for lessons will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  

  • PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PRIVATE LESSONS COACH BEFORE SCHEDULING YOUR LESSON

  • Private lessons will be available before and after school, when school is in session. 

    • Availability is subject to individual teachers

  • The cost of lessons is negotiable between parent and teacher per 30 minute lesson. 

    • LC suggested price is $20-$30

  • The individual instructors will arrange their payment schedule.  

    • Students may be requested to pay by month, or on a weekly basis. 

    • Students who are not current on their payment schedule will not receive a session. 

  • Private lessons are not a replacement for individual practice time.  

    • All private coaching students are expected to practice on their own during the week to prepare their assigned music.  

    • Students who are consistently unprepared will be dropped from the lesson program. 

  • Students are required to attend their scheduled lessons unless absent from school due to illness, death in the family, or an excused absence in accordance with the Lake Central School attendance policy.  

    • Communication with your instructor is essential. 

      • If absent contact your instructor prior to your lesson time. (with as much notice as possible) 

  • All private coaches in the Lake Central Schools will be qualified, professional musicians who have been screened by Lake Central Music Department Directors. They are background checked and have completed required safety tutorials.
